The latest episode just rolled credits after being flung across the pond to my Powerbook. As you may have read in the past, I’m a huge fan of this show. So turn your reality distortion field disruptor to full before you read this next part.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen an episode quite like this one. Out of 30+ years of this show this might possibly be the only episode that totally stands alone. Even if you know nothing of the the Doctor and the history of the time lord.

What made it so special? The Doctor and his Companion are not the center of the story. In fact they are the secondary part almost a subplot. Instead it’s told from the perspective of totally new character. One that we meet for the first time in the opening 3 minutes. From there this person is the focus of the story.

The clever montage shows that Elton has been feeling the effects of the Doctor for most of his life. Unlike those shows that do “best of remember when recaps” this totally worked. Even better was they made new effects showing a different angle of what happened. As to not spoil it I won’t do a blow by blow from here.

If you have never watched the show or are on the fence about the newest Doctor its worth the effort to watch the episode that just aired, err torrented. It’s great story telling and spot on editing. Plus it’s got some pretty cool effects considering the budget and the time on screen.

You really owe it to yourself to find a way to see it…
